Shipping and receiving policies

Wexco offers are FOB “ex works”, Lynchburg, Virginia. Please supply complete and specific shipping instructions and all necessary information to complete the order prior to time of shipment and to be communicated, preferably at the time of order placement.


Mode of transportation: Example: UPS, Truck, Air, Ocean freight


Preferred truck line. Check the truck line to make sure they pick up in Lynchburg, VA.


Insurance: Most transport services provide marginal “standard” coverage. Additional coverage (full product value) must be specified and purchased by the purchasing party.


Blind shipments to a freight terminal or customer must be specified by purchaser.


Destination: Shipment destination must be specified.


Shipping label: Added information to the shipping label and/or shipping documents: Such as P.O. numbers, end customer’s identification numbers, attention to: etc must be communicated and provided prior to shipment.


Ship freight collect: If the shipment goes to a third party, make sure that the end receipt ant has a “freight collect” account with the trucking company of choice. Wexco is not responsible for shipments refused for lack of an account with the trucking firm selected.


Ship to third party, bill freight: Pre-pay freight and invoice: Must be requested and authorized by Wexco at the time of order placement.


Out-of-country shipments: designated Freight Forwarder and / or Customs Broker? How to ship: Truck (Canada & Mexico only), Air or Ocean freight? Insurance requirements?


Special packaging requirements? Note: Special wood crating (E.U. etc) and “seaworthy” packaging are available from Wexco at a nominal charge. These special packaging charges are not included in the price of the product and are quoted as a separate line item when requested.


Special product & shipping crate marking options: Deviations from standard product and shipping container markings are available at a surcharge. Please specify “no markings” or “special markings” when requesting quotation. Standard markings (no charge) include Wexco logo.


Please provide adequate shipping instructions at the time of order placement. “Permanent” shipping instructions are kept on file. Any shipping information not available at time of order placement should be submitted before the end of the quoted “ready-to-ship” date.


Shipments to Wexco


Wexco-ordered supplies and goods: The Wexco Purchase Order number must be prominently displayed on or near the shipping label. On multi-piece shipments, the P.O. number must be shown on each container.


Items shipped to WEXCO for evaluation or repair: Contact Wexco Sales staff to explain the reason for the shipment and to obtain a Material Receiving Authorization (MRA) number for your shipment. The MRA number must be prominently displayed on or near the shipping label on each container. Do not ship freight collect without written authorization from Wexco. A Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) is required on cylinders with plastic residue or chemical substance left in or on the cylinder being shipped.


Return of product under limited warranty : Contact Wexco Sales staff to explain the reason for the return shipment (i.e. explain material or performance problems covered by Wexco’s limited warranty), and to obtain a Material Receiving Authorization (MRA) number for your shipment. The MRA number must be prominently displayed on or near the shipping label on each box or container shipped. Do not ship freight collect without written authorization from Wexco. A Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) is required on cylinders with plastic residue or chemical.
